  There are a number of varities of CARDAMOM.  Nearby Guatemala produces about 2,200 tons a year and the spice growing is continuing to expand.  The lower quality, Guatemala type of cardamom spice, brings about $5.38 USA per kilogram.  While the best variety out of India, gets $18.85 USA per kilogram.  There are even some types of cardamom that are not traded in the futures markets at all.
