BELIZE CANNOT SUPPLY THE DEMAND FOR PORK LOCALLY.

Hog farmers in Belize are growing and expanding.  Still though, the local demand for pork exceeds our ability to produce pigs.  Most hogs are produced in Shipyard by the Mennonites.  The Mennonites in Spanish Lookout and Barton Creek are also expanding their hog production.  Long way to go yet, to satisfy local demand.  And the port townies unemployed, and lawyers without clients, continue to claim there are no opportunities in Belize. PAH!  We still import about a quarter million pounds of pork into Belize for the Christmas season.  Pork producers would like to see more vetinary support from government departments.
