BELIZE PRODUCES AND FILLS THE LOCAL TURKEY DEMAND.
A year ago, the dressed weight of TURKEY produced in Belize, was 439,879 pounds. In Belize, the market likes smaller TURKEY. About 34,956 turkeys were grown in Belize. May and June, and USA Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas holidays are the big turkey buying times. We produce enough turkey in Belize to supply local demand.
Turkey meat is usually dry. So injection of the meat before cooking with vegetable oil solutions is recommended. Most turkey is also marianated with lots of spices. Most turkeys reach a weight of 22 lbs in 15 weeks, before being dressed. Breast meat and drum sticks are the favorites as well as in chicken.
