GUATEMALA HAS A BETTER POLITICAL SYSTEM THAN BELIZE.

MUST WE HAVE A REAL REVOLUTION IN BELIZE?

Guatemala our neighbor has a superior political system, than we have in Belize. Suggestions have been made that we could have an elected Senate, a 4 years term, an elected President, or Prime Minister. An elected Commissioner of Police. Proportional representation. All good ideas for diversifying democracy and applying checks and balances. Yet neither of the two political parties, or those kind of fellows, who are opportunists and criminals who run for elected office have the least intention of changing the Parliamentary spoils system to make politicians rich, at the expense of our taxes.

So why do we tolerate this? What will it take to make a more participatory democracy in Belize? Revolution some say. Violence some say. A new party some others say. Do we have to have a Belize Spring version of the Arab Spring?

How would you go about making CHANGE in our political system? How would you as a Belizean make a change from the parliamentary piracy system, to the more democratic REPUBLIC system? If you don´t come up with an answer very fast and this generation do something concrete about it, we are doomed to stay floundering in mediocracy and stagnation as an economy and as a country.
