CHANGES IN BUILDING THE DEMOCRACY OF BELIZE

BUILDING THE DEMOCRACY OF BELIZE!

On the long list of Constitutional and legislative changes for any Belize government to make, to make Belize a broader based democracy. High in importance is the ability for Towns and Villages to govern themselves without interference from the National Political party government functions.
One of these items worth mentioning, is the establishment of Towns and Villages to be POLICED by an elected police chief for 2 years, with a steady civil service type of regular constables on career paths. Seperated from the ONE PARTY ruled National police system we currently use. Talked about for 40 years, so far this idea has been thwarted by both the UDP and the PUP political parties, as they concentrate on centralizing their dictatorial power.
