BELIZE WEEKEND NEWSPAPER ARTICLES CALL FOR 4 YEAR TERM CHANGE, TO CONSTITUTION.

WEEKEND NEWSPAPERS, THE WEEKLIES IN BELIZE SUGGEST A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT FOR THIS UDP GOVERNMENT. CHANGE THE 5 YEAR TERM IN OFFICE TO 4 YEARS.

Over the past two weeks, the weekly newspapers have in various authored articles reminded the incumbent government again, that though the subject has come up many times over decades, it has been ignored by the PUP and UDP. That the population would see it as an improvement in our DEMOCRACY, if the term of office for national elected officials was dropped from 5 years to 4 years. IF and it is a big IF, the UDP CABINET were well intentioned on making the Belize Democracy a better one, and nobody believes that for a minute right now. They could start this month and get it done right away. Simply change the legal definition for a term of office from 5 years to 4 years. Nothing earth shaking about that change in our democracy. Easily done, if the pack of scoundrels and rascals currently managing our country were truly SEEKING WHAT IS BEST FOR BELIZE, instead of being opportunists, lining their own pockets off the public taxpayer. Just something easy, done quickly, to make the UDP not lose 10 points off their APPROVAL RATING in another two months. Remember if they do not make a change for the better running of our Belize Democracy per quarter over the coming year, they will lose 10 points off their Approval Rating Report Card, per quarter.
