Belize, Mexico and Guatemala comparison rates for electricity and gasoline.

IS IT CHEAPER TO CROSS THE BORDER AND FILL YOUR VEHICLE TANK?

For the last quarter, you paid about $9.50 a gallon in Belize REGULAR gasoline, but if you crossed the border into Mexico, you would pay about $4.90 per gallon. In Guatemala you paid about $8.22 a gallon. The best deal was if you had to go to Mexico on business, to top up your tank over there.
Diesel was $8.60 in Belize and $5.14 across the border in Mexico. Guatemala was $6.85.

How does Belize rate for electricity rates? This after the government has now completed 3 HYDRO DAMS on the Macal River system to bring electric rates down. The country is now self sufficient in electricity. Price of electricity in Belize starts for the poor people at .35 kwh, while in Mexico a flat rate of .13 cents kwh is enjoyed. In Guatemala you get the cheapest electricity of all at a flat rate of .05 cents kwh.

RESULTS: MEXICO IS CHEAPER IN GASOLINE AND DIESEL, AND GUATEMALA IS CHEAPER IN ELECTRICITY RATES. CONCLUSION: Successive Belize governments over the years have LIED repeatedly about reducing rates for electricity. In fact, the electricity rates keep rising.
