ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN THE CAPITAL BELMOPAN ATTRACTS FOREIGN STUDENTS

Belmopan is the capital of Belize, a sleepy town of 7000 people, it is the headquarters of the University of Belize nationwide system of outreach centers. The Regional Language Center run by the University of Belize, teachers English as a second language. Young men and women have come from seven different countries to learn English in Belize, an English speaking country. Though many languages are common here, English is the official language of government. 44 students graduate from the Regional Language Center and received their certificates in English as a second language. Graduation ceremonies were held on May 29th. More than half the group were Mexican students. The others were students from Panama, Cuba, Taiwan, Mainland China, Venezuela and El Salvador. The Mexican students enjoyed a formal breakfast at the residence of the Mexican Embassy in Belmopan by His Excellency Luis Manuel Lopez Moreno. The University of Belize is holding graduation for 503 students in Bachelor Degrees nd Associate Degrees in 44 disciplines. The guest speaker is Ambassador Albert Ramdin, the Assistant Secretay General of the Organization of American States. Belmopan the capital is in the center of the country, but slightly more in Western Belize than the Eastern part of the country.
